200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Astrid Santana

 

Ember Toga’s 200 hour yoga teacher training is a journey deep into the heart of yoga, offering students the opportunity to deepen their practice while obtaining the skills necessary to become a professional yoga teacher.  This 200 hour, yoga alliance certified foundational training is designed to empower graduates with the craft to create safe, meaningful, intelligently sequenced classes that can be tailored to a brad range of students and abilities.  Through group and home practices, lecture and study, and ample opportunities to practice teach, students will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to strengthen their practice, deepen their understanding of the mental and spirituals benefits of this week, and gain the skills necessary to become fully competent yoga teachers.  This training is open to all serious students of yoga, aspiring yoga teachers, teachers already in practice wishing to take their teaching to the next level.  Students with injuries and health issues are encouraged to attend.

 

Program Director Astrid Santana:

Astrid Santana is a 500-hour certified ERYT with yoga alliance, and has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. Astrid has completed more than 500 hours of formal teacher training and has taught over 7000 hours of classes to students ranging from absolute beginners to advanced practitioners of yoga. She has studied yoga, pranayama, meditation, philosophy and the sacred texts of yoga in depth with Yoganand Michael Carrol, a master level teacher in the Kripalu tradition, dean of the Kripalu School of Yoga and founder of Pranakriya Yoga. Astrid has also studied extensively in alignment based systems of yoga asana with Gina Minyard, Christina Sell, Noah Maze, and more.

In the summer of 2015, Astrid began working for the National Park Service as a seasonal national park ranger in Glacier National Park in northwest Montana, where she has continued to work and play from June to September, annually. In the fall, she happily returns to her home in Atlanta, shared with her fiancee, Eliot Bronson, and their two dogs, Leo and Annie Oakley.

Requirements and Expectations:

  • 1 year of yoga practice recommended
  • No prior teaching experience required
  • Stiffness and injuries OK 
  • Willingness and discipline to cultivate a home practice and sadhana journal
  • Ability to give and receive feedback skillfully 
  • Dedication, motivation and committed studentship
