Meditative Vinyasa

Meditative Vinyasa is an all levels traditional yoga class based on the teaching of Dharma Mittra, no experience is required. This class introduces students to sun salutations and a powerful series of balancing, stretching, back bending, twisting and inverted postures all with detailed guidance and explanation from the instructor. This class is recommended for students new to yoga. 

Meditative Vinyasa classes end with deep relaxation, a pranayama breathing exercise, and several minutes of meditation. These traditional components of yoga are taught so that, from the beginning, students can learn a complete set of techniques that, with constant practice, will remove impurities and bring a sense of well-being to the body and radiant peace to the mind.


Vinyasa

Vinyasa is an energetic class that uses vinyasa to connect motion with the breath and awaken the body, mind and spirit. This class is led in a non-heated room . The asanas practiced vary from class to class, but always include backbends, inversions and a complete standing series. Advanced variations are taught along with modifications. All levels of experience are welcome.


VINYASA Basics

Vinyasa Basics is a beginner class introducing traditional yoga, no experience is required. This class will break down and focus on good techniques for moving through vinyasa transitions. "Vinyasas" are the transition postures that connects motion with the breath and are an important integrating component of many styles of yoga. This class will also teach breathing, basic asanas (yoga poses) and other techinques to releive the body of tension and the mind of stress. This class is recommended for students new to yoga.


Vinyasa / Inversions / Learning to Fly

This challenging but fun class is focused on building strength and flexibility in the low back and hips. Although a basic knowledge of yoga is helpful, it's not required. In each class a unique sequence of asanas are blended in an effort to reach toward the full expression of more intricate postures such as pigeon or eka pada sirsasana (one leg behind the head). This class is heated to around 90 degrees. All levels welcome.


Ashtanga / Fundamentals & Level 1

This class is an instructor led beginner to intermediate level approach to the primary series of Ashtanga yoga. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a system of yoga popularized and brought to the west by Pattabhi Jois in the mid-20th century. It uses vinyasa to connect movements and postures with breath and introduces the concepts of drishtis (concentration or focus points) and bandhas (locks). These classes are recommended for new students and experienced students alike.
