Yoga Etiquette

To create a pleasant environment for your yoga practice as well as that of other practitioners, please abide by the following general yoga etiquette guidelines:

  • Arrive at least 5 to 10 minutes before class (20 minutes for new students)
  • Try to enter and leave the yoga room without disrupting the other students
  • Do not wear perfumes; colognes; scented body lotions, oils or deodorants
  • Leave your shoes in the hallway or locker rooms
  • Respect the silence of the yoga room before, during and after class
  • Turn off your cell phone when you arrive
  • For classes in the hot studio, try to setup in a way that does not block the mirror for those already setup behind you
  • If you tend to sweat outside of your mat, bring a towel and wipe down your area when class is over
  • Follow the instructions of the teacher
