Troy received his 200hr yoga teaching certification through Yogaview, under the guidance of Claire Mark, Geri Bleier, Quinn Kearney and Tom Quinn. Troy began practicing yoga in 2011, having an already active life of running, biking, and weightlifting. Working off the mat he balances his weekly work routine with a steady yoga practice in the studio and at home. Yoga has helped Troy discover a profound strength and flexibility of body and mind. With psychological courage and humility he wants to share what he has learned, helping others discover it for themselves. Troy’s intentions are to guide others in their yoga practice, and help them create a path that will merge body with mind and health with happiness. Having a strong inversion and transition practice, Troy will challenge his class through vinyasa sequences and provide opportunities that will advance the student’s practice at all levels. Troy also teaches private lesson and workshops. With his partner Ellery Long, they have formed Partners in Yoga, leading partner yoga workshops and retreats.
Jackie is a proud Jersey Girl who has been living in Atlanta for the past 24 years. She has been in the fitness industry since 1992, teaching spinning and aerobics. She discovered yoga after the birth of her 3rd child who was born with a neurological disorder. It gave her a peace that no other exercise could and taught her how to go through life one breath at a time. And sometimes those breaths need to be extra deep! Moving towards yoga was a natural progression in her journey, at first learning Iyengar yoga then moving into Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Yin. She received her 200 hour RYT Training through Ember Yoga with John Merideth in 2012. For Jackie yoga is all about the practice, not the perfection. It’s about allowing yourself to be where you are on a particular day and being okay with that. It’s knowing that you don’t have to nail a pose to be successful. It’s about accepting yourself for who you are, and remembering that yoga and life are journeys with ebbs and flows along the way. Through her teaching Jackie inspires her students to deepen their awareness of their self, their connection with their bodies, and helps to enrich their experiences on and off the mat. Keep it simple. That is the philosphy of Jason Anderson, an ambassador of the practice of Yoga. Jason is a former Division 1 basketball player who attended the University of Florida on a full athletic scholarship where he participated in a NCAA Final Four and went on to play professionally in South America and Europe. Following his last season of professional basketball in Portugal, after being sidelined due to pulled muscles, he came home and began practicing yoga daily. After two years of practicing he became an instructor, and after two years of teaching he acquired his 500 hour certification.
Ellery is a health and wellness enthusiast, with a passion for organic movement while connecting the mind and body. Her intention is to empower others to connect to their authentic self, while expressing their greatest potential both on and off of the yoga mat. Ellery received her 200RYT and Trauma Sensitive Yoga teaching certification in Chicago. New to Atlanta, she continues to teach with compassion and appreciation of the individual yet encourages everyone to challenge themselves. Her teaching style is Vinyasa/Hatha based with a strong emphasis on alignment making it accessible to all levels. When joining Ellery in class, expect a lively, warm flow that will inspire you, ignite your energy, and bring a smile to your heart.
