Christina Garrand
In 2011, Christina recognized her calling and began studying several yogic lineages including Yin, Restorative, Vinyasa, Hot Sequence, Ashtanga, Kundalini, + Universal Yogas. She quickly became a devoted student and practitioner. Inspiration from a wide range of amazing teachers has imbued her teaching with a distinct spiritual mosaic style. Learning to integrate the cores of the many practices she has studied has provided the solid, unshakable foundation her teaching style now reflects.
This foundation was given a voice during YTT 200hr at Ember Yoga under the guidance of Meredith Hesse and Marie Bilthouse. She left the corporate world in October 2018 to answer this call of Spirit to fully pursue her Path. Immediately upon graduation in May 2019, she was invited to teach at various venues in the Atlanta, GA area.
Displaying a calm and grounded presence, Christina's teaching mirrors her deep reverence for the knowledge that has been passed down to her through her dynamic mentors + studies. She believes in the path of surrender and devotion to reach our true nature.
Christina offers deeply energetic Vinyasa Yoga classes through which she has incorporated the culmination of her various Eastern movement practices such as Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Energy Work, Pranayama, and Meditation; ensuring a holistic approach working with all layers of one's being. Her classes follow the natural rhythms of the world around us so that the practitioners experience feelings of expansion, balance, and serenity, through Christina's masterful space-holding skills. Guiding practitioners to build a solid, grounded foundation is key to bodily and energetic awareness. As a guide, she encourages the practitioner to go within, where the true teacher is found. Her classes incorporate breath, movement, meditation, and sound healing. A practice for body, mind, and Spirit.
Christina is the visionary founder of GaiAlchemy, an integrated wellness practice offering spiritually-oriented movement practices, ceremony, and ritual, deeply-rooted in service to Mother Earth, the Universe, Spirit, and Humanity. In addition to leading yoga and meditation classes, workshops, and retreats Christina offers private, one-on-one energy healing sessions, individualized breath work, meditation, and yogic sequencing.
Christina is a USMC veteran and earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology with a concentration on the human body and psyche; as well as the natural world.
