Meet Our Teachers
Jackie Reckson
Jackie is a proud Jersey Girl who has been living in Atlanta for the past 24 years. She has been in the fitness industry since 1992, teaching spinning and aerobics. She discovered yoga after the birth of her 3rd child who was born with a neurological disorder. It gave her a peace that no other exercise could and taught her how to go through life one breath at a time. And sometimes those breaths need to be extra deep! Moving towards yoga was a natural progression in her journey, at first learning Iyengar yoga then moving into Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Yin. She received her 200 hour RYT Training through Ember Yoga with John Merideth in 2012. For Jackie yoga is all about the practice, not the perfection. It’s about allowing yourself to be where you are on a particular day and being okay with that. It’s knowing that you don’t have to nail a pose to be successful. It’s about accepting yourself for who you are, and remembering that yoga and life are journeys with ebbs and flows along the way. Through her teaching Jackie inspires her students to deepen their awareness of their self, their connection with their bodies, and helps to enrich their experiences on and off the mat. And why not listen to some great music and have some fun doing it!
Jane Gapud
Jane was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. Work stresses and a tight body from years of running and biking brought her to Ember Hot Yoga in 2012 where she started her practice with Hot Sequence classes. What was meant to be her outlet to cope with stress and a stretch class that kept her from sports injuries, eventually led to a new way of life of finding stillness, honoring her body, opening up, letting go, and self-healing. Jane's classes focus on alignment over depth to help you build a strong foundation in your asana practice and to help keep you injury free. She also provides opportunities to go deeper, to explore, and to have fun.
