David Baker
David grew up in Mexico and moved to the Atlanta area in 2015. His journey into yoga began unexpectedly, following a back injury that was set to require surgery. With the operation scheduled eight weeks out, a friend suggested he try Bikram yoga. That same day, David left work, bought a mat and towel, and walked into his first class—not knowing it would change his life.
It wasn’t love at first practice. The room was unbearably hot, and he had no idea what he was doing. But after class, he felt just a little better—so he went back the next day, and the day after that. Within weeks, he had stopped taking all painkillers and muscle relaxers, and had regained significant mobility in his spine. His doctors pushed the surgery out another six weeks, and eventually, it was canceled altogether.
What began as a way to heal his body quickly evolved into something much deeper. Through stillness and breath, David discovered a space on the mat that remains constant—no matter what life brings. A space to feel, to accept, and to let go.
David holds a 200-hour RYT certification and a 100-hour Hot Yoga (26+2) certification. He enjoys teaching challenging classes that empower practitioners of all levels to find their edge—whether that means taking a break or pushing yourself to keep going. Most importantly, he encourages students to simply show up and breathe.
